Our WHY?

SHIFT Strength Training is more than just a fitness studio; it’s a movement. It’s about rewriting the narrative of midlife and empowering women to embrace their journey.  We are a Strength Training studio that believes in longevity over vanity and strong over skinny.

 

This studio is rooted in the science-backed data of Women's bodies as their hormones begin to fluctuate.  As trainers, we know the wide spread impacts of loosing hormones and are deeply knowledgable about the strategies to support you.  Wether you are entering perimenopause or in your post menopause era, we will help you feel your best in body, mind and soul.

Our Science Backed Approach

Dynamic Warmup

Warming up becomes especially important in midlife because our changing hormones affect how our muscles, joints, and connective tissues feel. 

Each class will begin with a full body warm up to support your mobility, prep your nervous system and prepare your body to lift weights.

Progressive Overload

Declining hormones cause our body to loose strength and muscle tone..  Training Progressive Overload involves gradually increasing the challenge placed on your muscles week after week. This principle will help a Woman's body not only keep, but GAIN strength and protect our bones.

Cycle Awareness

Men age linearly, Women do not.  We focus on teaching cycle awareness and empowering Women to get to know how their cycle affects their energy, strength, power and mood.  We will support each Woman wether still menstruating or post menopausal to honor her rhythm and work/rest accordingly..

HIIT Boost

Many Woman in Midlife report gaining weight despite not changing their diet.  So we end our lifting sessions with High-Intensity Interval Training.  These short bursts of intense cardio exercise has specific benefits for women over 40.  It influences metabolism, cardiovascular health, and promotes fat loss.
